Three Zeros

Michael left all three of his bye-week starters in the lineup, took three zeros, and lost to John E., who is no longer winless. Tim scored 42.6 with two Out players in his lineup and nothing left to play. Jonathan benched 48 points and trails Jeff with Jayden Daniels on Monday. Sal Bianchi files the halftime report.

John E. has a win. John E. 109.76, Michael 75.08, final — and I want to be precise about how it happened, because Thursday’s preview said Michael had three bye-week players in his lineup, and on Sunday, Michael had three bye-week players in his lineup. Jameson Williams, 0.0. Will Reichard, 0.0. Vikings defense, 0.0. He scored 75 from six players — Kenneth Walker 27.9, James Cook 24.3, Mahomes 10.48 — and left Tre Tucker’s 26.7 and Keenan Allen’s 16.2 on the bench, which is 42.9 points, which is more than he lost by. Last week he started two zeros and won. This week he started three and lost. There is a lesson in there and I’m fairly sure he will not learn it. John E., meanwhile: Tyler Shough 26.96, Luther Burden 17.5, Keon Coleman 15.9 out of the flex, nine from the Ravens defense he cut and re-signed, and Trevor Lawrence scoring 27.34 on his bench just to keep things on brand. The all-time wins leader is 1-5. The series is 17-5. Somebody check on Michael.

Nick 94.50, Tim 42.60. Tim is done. Forty-two point six, and here is the lineup: Lamar Jackson, listed Out, started, 0.0. Quinshon Judkins, listed Out, started, 0.0. Brian Thomas, 0.0. Nick Folk, signed Thursday night, 1.0. Tanner McKee, also signed Thursday night, 9.6 on the bench behind the quarterback who didn’t play. Tim dropped Tyler Huntley — 21.04 last week — to make room for Folk. Nick, who had no quarterback on Thursday morning, signed Michael Penix and got 17.1, signed Darren Waller on Sunday morning and got 0.0, and has McCaffrey and the 49ers defense on Monday night with a 51.90-point lead over a man with nothing left. Nick is going to be 2-4. The series goes to 10-6.

Timothy 96.58, Sean 55.40. Sean scored 74 last week. He has 55.4 tonight with CeeDee Lamb (5.3 so far) and Brandon Aubrey in the Cowboys–Packers game and Brock Purdy on Monday, and he trails by 41.18 against a Timothy lineup that still has Dak Prescott and Matthew Golden going tonight and George Kittle on Monday. Keaton Mitchell scored 0.4. Caleb Williams scored 11.5 on the bench. Timothy has Boswell at 18 and the Broncos at 13 and if this holds it’s his 100th regular-season win and the series is level at 12-12, two things Sean would rather not be part of.

Anthony 111.00, Josh 108.72. The closest game on the board, 2.28, with one Monday starter apiece: Mike Evans for Anthony, Austin Ekeler — signed Sunday morning — for Josh. Malik Nabers 28.5, Drake Maye 23.8 again. Josh got 18.5 from Colston Loveland, 19.0 from Carnell Tate, 15 from his kicker, and 11.02 from Aaron Rodgers, signed Thursday to cover Burrow’s bye. Ekeler against Evans for the game. Anthony’s 130th win is riding on a 33-year-old wide receiver in a Monday night game, which feels right.

Jeff 82.60, Jonathan 66.10. The 4-1 game. Jeff is up 16.5 and has Christian Watson in the Packers game; Jonathan has Tucker Kraft in it (2.9 so far) and Jayden Daniels on Monday, and needs 16.51 net. He might get it. He’d be a lot closer to getting it if Germie Bernard — the receiver he won on waivers Thursday, dropping his kicker to do it — hadn’t scored 25.7 on his bench, or if C.J. Stroud hadn’t scored 22.98 next to him. Jonathan’s bench has 66.58 points on it, the most in the league. Cam Skattebo started and scored 0.0. Smith-Njigba scored 25.4, which is the only reason this is a game.

mike 104.18, Kevin 70.88. Kevin left Jake Bates in on the Lions’ bye: 0.0. Bo Nix: 2.48. mike has George Pickens still going tonight; Kevin has Jake Ferguson and MarShawn Lloyd in the same game and needs 33.3 from them, and Lloyd is currently at −0.2. Bhayshul Tuten 24.7 and Isaiah Likely 23.9 for mike, who is one week removed from 187 and about to be 3-3. The series would be 11-10 Kevin.

John P. 76.44, Owen 63.52. Owen signed Jacoby Brissett on Friday after Jalen Hurts went on injured reserve, and Brissett gave him 6.92, with DeMario Douglas — claimed Thursday — scoring 19.6 on the bench. Owen has Javonte Williams in the night game, 5.0 so far, and needs 12.93 more from him; John P. is done. Jaylin Noel, signed Friday, scored 20.7 for John P.; Kirk Cousins scored 18.52 on the bench behind Bryce Young’s 17.84. The series would be 12-4.
