Still No 4-0

Jonathan started 3-0 for the fourth time and lost in Week 4 for the fourth time, to the one man the preview warned him about. Nick is 0-4 for the first time in his life. mike leads with an empty defense slot. Timothy needs 28.19 from Bijan tonight. Sal Bianchi files the Monday report.

Marcus wrote seven hundred words on Thursday about how Jonathan had never been 4-0, and Anthony read every one of them. Anthony 138.76, Jonathan 91.38, final. Tetairoa McMillan scored 44.2, the best single line by any starter in this league this season, Malik Nabers added 23.2, and the man who scored 64 and 61 the last two weeks walked in and scored 138 on the one team that couldn’t afford it. Anthony leads the series 14-9. Jonathan’s side of it: C.J. Stroud, signed Thursday at 10 a.m., gave him 21.08, which is fine, and Kenyon Sadiq, starting at tight end, gave him 0.0, which is not, because Tucker Kraft scored 16.5 on his bench. Jonathan has now started 3-0 in 2012, 2016, 2021 and 2026 and is 0-4 in the game after. He is 3-1. He is, as always, fine.

Owen 150.62, Nick 64.38, final. Yes. That Owen. The one who scored 68 and 69 the last two weeks and lost by 65 and 79. Javonte Williams 31.3, Nico Collins 30.8, Zay Flowers 25.8, a kicker who scored 16, and the sixth-best game of his 228-game career against the four-time champion, who is now 0-4 for the first time ever. Read that again. Nick has never been 0-4. He has been 4-0 three times. His four opponents this year have scored 141, 156, 173 and 150 — 621.60 points against, which leads the league by more than a hundred and twenty — and this week he helped them, benching Jared Goff, who had given him 14.44, 23.78 and 17.36, for Kyler Murray, who gave him 7.48 while Goff scored 19.48 on the bench, and leaving DK Metcalf’s 16.5 behind Jauan Jennings (1.8) and Parker Washington (2.0). The margin, 86.24, is the widest of the season and the eighteenth-widest in league history. Owen is 2-2. Nick is 0-4. The series is 8-4 Nick, if that helps him, and it doesn’t.

Tim 124.38, John P. 109.26, final. Tim is 3-1, which he has done twice before, in 2016 and 2023. Kyle Monangai scored 28.0 out of the flex, Brock Bowers 20.6 and Quinshon Judkins 21.6. John P. got 36.7 from Kyren Williams and 22.4 from Sam LaPorta and lost anyway, because Rashee Rice scored 0.0 and Courtland Sutton 1.4 in the two slots next to them. Kirk Cousins, 22.6, watched from the bench. The series, level at 6-6 on Thursday, is 7-6 Tim. John P. is 1-3.

Now the ones that aren’t over. mike 88.98, Timothy 60.80 — Timothy has Bijan Robinson tonight and needs 28.19 from him, which Bijan did two weeks ago (35.3) and did not do the week before that (11.1). mike, who is 0-3, is leading an unbeaten team by 28 with a defense slot that reads “0.” He dropped the 49ers on Saturday night for the Bills and never moved the Bills into the lineup; they scored 4.0 on his bench, next to Emanuel Wilson, claimed Thursday, who scored 26.0 there. Puka Nacua scored 27.7. Saquon Barkley scored 1.0 for Timothy, Garrett Wilson 5.7, Emeka Egbuka 3.3. One Bijan game decides whether Timothy is 4-0 or the Tomato Heads have their first win.

Sean 147.82, Josh 134.72. Josh is done. Sean has Chris Olave tonight and leads by 13.10, so barring a wide receiver scoring negative thirteen, Sean is 4-0 for the third time (2020, 2024). CeeDee Lamb 41.3, Brock Purdy 21.62 in his second start. Josh got 26.7 from Tee Higgins, 25.9 from Chuba Hubbard, 24.9 from T.J. Hockenson, 20.5 from Carnell Tate and 0.0 from Ladd McConkey, and if 134.72 holds as a loss it will be the sixteenth-highest losing score in league history, which pushes Nick’s 133.88 from Week 2 down to seventeenth. This league has produced three of the top seventeen in four weeks. Josh–Sean was 7-7. It is about to not be.

Jeff 77.12, John E. 59.40. The only true coin flip left. Jeff has Drake London tonight; John E. has Tyler Shough, his quarterback, who scored 21.8 last week. John E. needs 17.73 more from Shough than Jeff gets from London. Jeff got 1.7 from Dalton Kincaid and 3.5 from Travis Kelce in the flex while Romeo Doubs scored 23.8 and Tony Pollard 13.0 on his bench. John E. got 5.7 from Ja’Marr Chase and 3.0 from George Holani, signed Thursday night, and 14 from Spencer Shrader, the kicker he signed Thursday morning — the week’s best move in the Johns household. John E. leads the series 12-6 and is trying very hard not to be 0-4.

Michael 140.70, Kevin 89.86. Kevin has Devaughn Vele tonight and needs 50.85 from him, which is more than any starter in this league has scored in a single week this season. So, technically pending. Michael — 1-13 Michael — has now scored 156.48, 149.14 and 140.70 in consecutive weeks; Kenneth Walker 30.9, Rhamondre Stevenson 18.4 from the flex, 17 from his kicker. If it holds, he is 3-1 and the series is 10-6.
