The Game of the Week is doing exactly what it was told. John E. sits at 106.90 and John P. at 100.64, and neither man is done. John P. has Kyren Williams and Courtland Sutton in the Rams–Broncos game that kicks off in a few minutes; John E. has Luther Burden in Chicago on Monday night. So John P. needs 6.27 from two starters tonight to take the lead, and then has to hope a Bears rookie doesn’t take it back twenty-four hours later. The waiver-wire quarterback worked, by the way — Tyler Shough gave John E. 21.8, which is 17.64 more than Trevor Lawrence gave him last week and 11.16 more than Bryce Young gave John P. today. Jahmyr Gibbs gave John P. 41.4, the best line in the league, and it may not be enough. Jadarian Price, the running back John E. traded for on Wednesday, scored 1.2. The other running back, Jeremiyah Love, scored 21.9. So the trade is going great and also terribly, depending on which half you look at.
Elsewhere, the only game that is actually over is the big one. Sean 138.08, Jeff 126.66, final. Brock Purdy — benched for 28.48 two weeks ago, finally started — threw for 33.28. Jeff got 13.46 from Josh Allen while Sam Darnold scored 27.66 on his bench, and Jeff’s bench in total put up 61.96, which is more than Owen, Kevin or mike have scored with their starters. Sean is 3-0 for the fifth time in his career. The series is 19-13. Jeff’s first 2-0 start since 2013 ended the way that one did, too: in Week 3.
Timothy 150.34, Nick 83.36 — and Timothy still has Saquon Barkley and the Broncos defense to play. 150.34 is already the highest score in the league this week, Bijan Robinson 35.3, Garrett Wilson 26.7, George Kittle 26.2. Nick has D’Andre Swift and DeVonta Smith on Monday night and needs 66.98 from them, net of whatever Saquon and Denver do. Barring 67 net points from two Monday-night starters, the champion will be 0-3 for the second time in his life. The first was 2020. Nick leads the all-time series with Timothy 12-5; it will be 12-6.
Michael 128.44, Owen 55.20. Owen has Jalen Hurts and the Rams defense left and needs 73.24. Michael has Davante Adams tonight. Michael also left 66.58 on his bench, the most in the league, and is on course to win by seventy anyway. Owen’s new receiver Zay Flowers scored 15.4 and Marvin Harrison, moved to the flex, scored 7.0, which is 7.0 more than last week.
Josh 100.78, mike 58.70. Josh is done. mike has Matthew Stafford tonight — yes, that Stafford, the one John P. dropped with 25.98 on his bench, the one mike picked up after cutting Drew Lock, who he picked up after cutting Jaxson Dart. mike needs 42.08 from him. It would be one of the great quarterback games in Rams history and I would like to see it, because the alternative is mike going 0-3 in a season where he already scored 141 in a loss. His bench scored 36.5; Bhayshul Tuten scored 17 of it after mike moved him out of the flex.
Jonathan 98.96, Kevin 57.90. Jonathan has the Eagles defense Monday. Kevin has Bo Nix and Jaylen Waddle tonight and Dontayvion Wicks Monday and needs 41.06 from the three of them, which is not impossible. Malik Willis, starting for the injured Jayden Daniels five days after being acquired from John E., gave Jonathan 10.0. Jaxon Smith-Njigba gave him 35.36. Jonathan is one Eagles defensive collapse from 3-0 and has already outscored Kevin by 41 with fourteen of eighteen starters in.
Tim 81.64, Anthony 59.64. Anthony has Terrance Ferguson, the Rams tight end, tonight, and needs 22.0 from him. Tim has Rome Odunze and Kyle Monangai on Monday. Brock Bowers, who gave Tim zero last week, gave him 27.6. Anthony has now followed 145.16 with 64.38 and 59.64. He picked up Zach Ertz on Wednesday and has already cut him for Ferguson. The power ranking still has him first. Marcus stands by it. Marcus is alone.
